Introduction

"Karns High School is situated on Beaver Creek at the foot of Beaver Ridge, ten miles west of Knoxville.  All around us are the beautiful mountains, rivers, and  lakes of the Tennessee Valley.  In this locality were most of Karns High School's students born and reared.  We love this valley and would not exchange it for any place in the world, and because of our love for Karns, we, the staff of 1945, present the second edition of our "GOLD AND BLUE" to you as a representation of what our school is accomplishing.  we extend our gratitude to everyone who has contributed to this publication, and we hope that it will serve as a constant reminder of the pleasant days we have enjoyed in Karns High School"
