I move that the recommendations made by the deacons on Sunday, May 10, 1970, be postponed until today, May 17, be laid on the table until after January, 1971, with the following understanding:

     1. That the Trustees of Carson-Newman College rescind their policy of on-campus dancing as requested by the Executive Committee of the Tennessee Baptist Convention, these recommendations are tabled permanently and the church will discharge her commitments to Carson-Newman College.

     2. That if they should be taken from the table by the church vote, at least a week must elapose [sic] before a vote is taken on these recommendations.  Further, notice must have been given in the Messenger informing the church membership relative to the date of the vote.

This motion was seconded and there were no questions or discussion.  The motion carried.  A motion was made and seconded and the business session was adjourned.
