Knox County Cemetery Historian
All identified Knox County cemeteries have been transcribed, and much of the information is contained on nearly 300,000 index cards at the McClung Historical Collection in Knoxville.  This database contains a limited number of those transcriptions at present.  As time permits, more entries will be added, with the goal of having every name and cemetery included in this database.  Database currently contains 18,556 records.

Search this database for your surname and/or given name (or combination) of interest.  You should search on every potential spelling, since spelling variations are not cross-referenced.  If you are searching for a person who was a slave, use slave as the surname.

If you want to obtain dates and other details that might have been included (maiden names, parents' names, marriage information, obituary text, will abstract, etc.), you will need to purchase Robert's book that contains the cemetery transcription.  Click here to contact Robert McGinnis for ordering information.
