William Henry, hath liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on Roseberry's Creek.

Patrick Slatery, hath liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on Stock Creek.

William Stockton, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop and Split in each ear.

Robert McTeer, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is one hole in each ear and a split in the under part of the left ear.

Thomas McCullock, hath liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on Pistol Creek.

Charles McClung, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop off the left ear and a split in the Right Ear. And hath liberty to build a public Mill on his own land on Big Sinking Creek.

James White, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a half Crop off the underside of the left ear and a split in the Right ear.

Thomas Gillespie, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop off the left ear, and a half Crop off the under side of the Right ear.

George McNutt, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop off the Right Ear, and a swallow fork in the left Ear.

John Adair, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a swallow fork in the left ear, and upper Keill in the Right Ear.

Thomas McCullock, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop and split in the left Ear, and an under Keill in the Right Ear.

William Meek, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is two and in half Crops viz. one in each ear.

David Walker, hath liberty to Record his Mark, and Brand which are a Crop off the left Ear and two splits in the Right Ear.  Brand thus, W in the nigh shoulder.

John Hackett, hath liberty to record his mark and Brand which are a Crop and split in the Left Ear and a Crop off the under part of

the Right ear.  Brand thus, H in the nigh thigh and under the mane on the off side.

Archibald Rhea, hath liberty to Record his Mark and Brand which are a Crop and split in the left ear, and a swallow fork in the right ear.  Brand thus, A on the nigh shoulder and R on the nigh Buttock.


October Sessions 1792

John Crawford, hath liberty to Record his Mark and Brand, which are an under Keill off each ear, and a split in the Right ear.  Brand thus, C.

William Standifer, hath liberty to Record his Mark which is a swallow fork and under bit in each ear.


January Sessions 1793

John & Simeon Adamson, have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on their own land on the Waters of Lyons Creek.

Johnston Kinza, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop and under Keill in each ear.

Robert Blackburn, hath liberty to have his Mark Recorded, which is a Crop off the Right ear, and a halfpenny out of the upper side of the left ear.


May Sessions 1793

Constant Claxton, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop of each ear, and a split and under Keill in the Right ear.

Nicholas F. Perkins, hath liberty to Build Publick Grist and Saw Mills on his own land on Flat Creek.

Levi Hinds, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop off the left ear and a nick in the under side of the same.

February Sessions 1794

John Williams, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop off the left ear and a split in the right ear.

James Thompson, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Crop off the Right ear, and two splits in the Crop.

William Lea, hath liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on Beaver Dam Creek.

Solomon McCampbell, hath liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on Gallahers Creek.

James Blair, hath liberty to Record his Mark, which is a Swallow fork in the Right ear.

Warner Martin.  The Mill built by him on Nails Creek to be a public Mill.

August Sessions 1794

William Roberts hath liberty to record his Mark, which is a Crop off the left ear and halfpenny or bit off the upper side of the right.  Brand thus, R.

Nicholas F. Perkins hath liberty to record his Mark, which is a Crop off the left ear and over keil in the right.

Freel Edward hath liberty to record his mark, which is a Crop off the right ear and under slope in the left.


October Sessions 1794

William Lea hath liberty to record his mark which is a Crop off each ear, and a split in the right ear.


January Sessions 1795

James Scott hath liberty to record his Mark which is a Cropp off the left ear and swallow fork off the right.

William Gillespie hath liberty to Record his Mark which is a Crop off the right ear and a split, and a split in the left.

James Gillespie hath liberty to record his mark which is an under bit out of the left ear and a hole in the same and a split in the right ear.

April Sessions 1795

Ordered that the Mill built by Patrick Sharkey on fourth Creek be considered a public Mill.

Ordered that the Mill built by William Hines be considered a public Mill.


July Sessions 1795

The Mark of Major Lea is a Crop & slit in each ear.

The Mark of Henry Roberts is a Crop and slit in the left ear, and halfpenny or bit out of the upper side of the right.

The Mark of Jesse Bounds is a smooth crop off the left ear.

The Mark and brand of Nicholas Gibbs are, Mark half crop off the right ear and split and under bit out of the under part of the left ear.  Brand, N.G.


January Sessions 1796

The mark and brand of Harwood Jones are Mark a Crop off each ear and a nick in the underside of each. Brand HI.

Ordered that John Humbard have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on the limestone fork of Tuckahoe Creek.

Ordered that John Ferrel have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on the west fork of Flat Creek.

April Sessions 1796

The Mark of David Adair is an under half crop in each ear.

Ordered that Drury W. Breazeale have liberty to build a public Grist mill on his own land on Second creek.


July Sessions 1796

Ordered that James McNair have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land.

Ordered that the Mill build by Samuel Holmes first on his own land on little Sinking Creek, be considered a public Mill.

Ordered that Aquilla Low have liberty to build a public Grist mill on his own land on Beaverdam Creek.


October Sessions 1796

The Mark of James Montgomery is a Crop in the left Ear.

Ordered that Christian Rhodes have liberty to build a public Mill on his own land on the west fork of third creek.


January Sessions 1797

Ordered that Jarett Willingham have liberty to have his mark recorded which is a swallow fork and under kiel in the right ear and a crop off the left ear.

Ordered that Charles McClung have liberty to build a public Mill on his own land on Sinking Creek.

Alexander McMullin hath liberty to record his Mark which is a Crop of the left ear and a Slit in the Right ear.

James King's Mark is a Crop and slit in the right ear and a hole in the left.

Ordered that Samuel Hinds have liberty to build a public Mill on his own land on the lower sinking branch of Beaver Creek.

Ordered that Joseph Carter have liberty to build a Grist Mill on his own land on the west fork of third Creek.

Ordered that William Murphy have liberty to build a public Mill on his own land on Blairs branch of Bullrun.


July Sessions 1797

Ordered that John Elder have liberty to record his Mark which is two Smooth Crops & two under bits.


October Term 1797

John McNeills Mark, a Crop off the right Ear and a half Crop off the upper side off the left ear.

Nathaniel Peters Mark, a Crop and over bit and under bit off each Ear.


July Term 1798

Ordered that George Raulston have liberty to build and keep up a Mill on his on land in Knox County on a fork of Tuckahoe Creek.


January Term 1799

Ordered that Thomas Steel have liberty to build a public Mill.


April Term 1799

Ordered that John Sevier have liberty to build a Water Grist Mill on his own land on Flat Creek.

Ordered that Moses Winters have liberty to build a public Grist Mill where the Indian fork of poplar Creek breaks through Waldons Ridge.


October Sessions 1799

Ordered that the Mill built by Charles Scaggs be considered as a public Mill, it is on the east fork of Bull Run.


January Sessions 1800

Ordered that John Sevier have liberty to build a public Water Grist Mill on his own land on the South side of Holston.

Ordered that Benjamin Manifold have liberty to build a public Grist and Saw Mills on his own land.


April Sessions 1800

Ordered that Thomas Kincaid have liberty to build a public water Grist mill on his own land on the north side of Clinch River.

July Sessions 1800

On petition of William White Ordered that he have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on the East fork of Poplar Creek below the mouth of Crawfords spring branch.


October Sessions 1800

Benjamin Prides Ear mark is a Crop off the left ear and a slit in the right ear.


January Sessions 1801

On petition of John Ingram Ordered that he have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his on land on Roseberrys Creek.


April Sessions 1801

James Woods mark is two Swallow forks and two under bits which is ordered to be recorded.

Daniel Woods mark is a Swallow fork in the Right ear, and Crop and under bit in the left which is ordered to be recorded.

Austin McDonalds mark is a Crop under under Kiell in each ear which is ordered to be Recorded.

Ordered that William Matlock have liberty to build a water Grist Mill on his own land on Cove Creek.

Samuel G. Ramseys Mark is a Crop off the left ear and Under bit in the Right Ear which is ordered to be Recorded.

Moses Looneys marks is a Crop off the left ear and a Slit and under bit in the Right ear.


January Sessions 1802

John Smiths Mark, a Crop off the left ear and an under Keill in each ear.

Stephen Clayton's mark, a Swallow fork and under Keill in each ear.

Benjamin Wheeler's Mark, a Crop off the left ear. His horses branded BW on the over shoulder.

Samuel Frazier's mark, a Swallow fork in the left ear, and a halfpenny in the underside of the right ear.


April Sessions 1802

Ordered that John Hubbs have his Mark Recorded which is a Crop off the left ear, and an under bit out of the Right ear.

On motion of John Millar it is Ordered that he have liberty to record his mark, which is a Crop and slit in the right ear and a half crop in the left, on the upper side.


January Sessions 1803

On the Petition of Joseph Rodgers and Sundrie Citizens of this County It is ordered that the Mill Built by the said Joseph Rodgers on his own land on Big Sinking Creek be a public Mill.


January Sessions 1804

On motion ordered that John Gibbs have his Mark recorded, which is a half crop off the left ear, and under bitt in the right ear.

On Motion ordered that Jacob Yoakham have his Mark recorded, which is a Crop and under bitt in the right Ear and split in the left.

On Motion of Stephen Hoyl it is ordered that he have his mark recorded which is a crop off each ear, and an under bitt out of the right ear.

On Motion, Ordered that Jesse Clayton have his Mark recorded, which is a Crop and under Keill in each ear.


April Sessions 1804

On Motion of Isaac Jones, It is ordered that he have his Mark recorded which is a crop and slit in the right ear and a slit in the left.


October Sessions 1804

On the Petition of Abednigo Casteel, It is ordered that he have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own Land in the Settlement of Stock Creek.

On motion of Absolom Rutherford, It is ordered that he have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on Flat Creek.


April Sessions 1805

On motion of John Hinds Sen., It is ordered that he have liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his own land on the lower Sinking branch of Beaver Creek.


January Sessions 1806

On motion of Willoughby Robertson It is ordered that he have liberty to record his Mark, which is a crop off each ear, and an under bit out of the Right ear.


April Sessions 1806

On motion of Francis Hamilton It is ordered that he have liberty to record his mark which is an over keill in the right ear and under Keill in the left.


July Sessions 1813

On the petition of Benjamin Hall, Ordered that he hath liberty to build a public Grist Mill on his land in this county.


January Sessions 1814

Ordered that Craighead's mill be hereafter a public mill.

On the motion of Jeremiah King Ordered that his Mark be Recorded to wit: A smooth crop off the left ear, and a crop off and slit in the right Ear.


July Sessions 1809

On motion of John Williams, Ordered that the mark of his Stock be recorded to wit: A crop & slit in the left ear, and a Slit in the right ear.

On motion of John Karns, Ordered that his Mark be recorded to wit: a Swallow fork in each ear.


April Sessions 1816

On motion of Henry Lonas ordered that his mark be recorded to wit: a smooth crop off the right Ear.

On motion of Robert Tunnell ordered that his mark be recorded which is a slit in the right ear and underbit in the left.
