The purpose of this section of the Knox County Genealogy & History Web site is to provide links to text, maps, photos, and other helpful resources for those whose ancestors were veterans of the "The Great War" or the "War to End all Wars," as it was known at the time.  We know it today as World War I.

The primary source of information for this section is the 1919 memorial publication, Knox County in the World War 1917-1918-1919.  The complete text and all photos -- including a searchable database of all soldiers' names -- from this rare, 448-page volume is available to researchers.
