Update on Site RenovationsWe didn't expect our renovations to take so long. To quote John Lennon, "Life is what happens to you when you're busy making other plans." Billie is working diligently to get the Knox County site updated as her schedule permits. To all our visitors over the past 10 years: We thank you for your loyalty and support. We especially appreciate your patience as we've been working to modernize the site and make it more interactive. 01/24/2010 - updated Queries - see Features section, below left. Do you have time, interest, and a passing knowledge of either uploading files or editing documents? If so, you can learn to do basic Web stuff. And, Billie would be thrilled to have some helping hands to make the transition go faster. E-mail Billie: k.n.o.x.a.t.t.n.g.e.n.w.e.b.d.o.t.o.r.g (take all the periods out and change the words "at" and "dot" appropriately). Now...back to work! |

Do you have Knox County genealogical or historical information to share? Dust off that old family Bible; dig out Grandpa's store ledgers; 'rediscover' those old pictures. We'd love
to link your information to our site! |

Knox County is located in East Tennessee, one of the state's three "Grand Divisions." It was created in 1792 from Greene and Hawkins counties. Knox County was named in honor of Henry Knox (1750-1806), American Revolutionary War artillery commander, one of the founders of the Society of the Cincinnati and first U.S. secretary of war. Knoxville, founded in 1791, is the county seat of Knox County. |
